EXPERIENCE OF CRIMINOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS IN GERMANY AND ITALY

Abstract

The article examines the experience of criminological activities of non-governmental organizations of the Federal Republic of Germany using the example of the work of the “Deutsches Forum für Kriminalprävention” and analyzes individual projects to combat crime in the Italian Republic with the participation of non-governmental organizations. It is noted that in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Italy, the activity of non-governmental organizations in terms of combating crime is primarily aimed at preventing socially dangerous acts by eliminating the determinants of socially dangerous acts, working with the population (victimological prevention) and potential subjects of crimes. On the example of the activities of the “Deutsches Forum für Kriminalprävention”, the most typical areas of criminological activity of non-governmental organizations of the Federal Republic of Germany are revealed: cooperation with law enforcement agencies and other subjects of crime prevention; generalization of existing professional approaches aimed at combating crime; conducting information campaigns among the population, etc. The cooperation of non-governmental organizations of the Italian Republic with the law enforcement agencies of this country within the framework of the project “Safe...outside the home” is under consideration. It is noted that this project involves active work with the population in terms of how to reduce the risks of becoming a victim of a crime by distributing victimological information through leaflets, SMS messages, etc.
